What is considered the oldest Thanksgiving Day Parade is in Philadelphia and has been happening for more than a century. The parade is for all ages and features floats, balloons, musical acts, cheerleaders, marching bands, and dancers. Held this year on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, the parade starts at 9:00am ET and lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours. The parade begins around 20th and JFK Boulevard and goes through the city for 1.4 miles. Get there early to grab a spot; some people begin camping out around sunrise.

If you’re really stuffed after Thanksgiving, why not go for a run? Sign up for the Run Off the Turkey Trot 5K/10K/13.1 Philadelphia. Run in this small, private group in the annual Turkey Trot Run. The run is open to all paces and ages, but those under 18 must have a guardian. The run is stress-free with no timing chips. You will receive some cool swag, too!

Head over to Christmas Village in Philadelphia from Nov. 23, 2024, through Dec. 24, 2024, to start your holiday shopping. In its 17^th year, the village is modeled after traditional German Christmas markets and is held at Love Park and City Hall from 12:00pm to 8:00pm daily. It features a host of local and international vendors as well as a mascot Phil the Reindeer. Enjoy a carousel ride, a Ferris wheel, and a train for the kids.
