We did it once and we did it again! Today marks a special day at Niagara’s most talked about attraction, Hornblower Niagara Cruises, as we celebrate our 1 millionth passenger. (enter applause here). The Pinto and Lacroix families from Bradford and Barrie, Ontario, Canada had no idea we were about to make their Niagara Falls getaway that much better! After waiting in line for a short period of time with 6 children, yes you read that right, 6 children under the age of 10, the two families arrived at Ticket Booth #3 to be greeted by a member from the Hornblower Marketing department and Guest Services employee, Deb who both revealed the great news to the group! After high fives all around and sounds of the screams from the kids, the families were provided with complimentary boat tour tickets.
Rachel Pinto and her children, Gabriel, 7 and Mila, 3 and nephew, Lucas, 10 who were visiting from Barrie, Ontario thought Hornblower Niagara Cruises was the coolest experience and couldn’t wait to get onboard and into the refreshing mist. David and his children, Addison, 7, Lexie, 6, and Piper, 3 were also excited to board the boats V.I.P style to the upper level. Prior to boarding, Rachel joked about resting her feet, but she was again surprised when she saw the many patio tables, chairs and tents serving up food and refreshing beverages. Note: Patio chairs after pushing a double seated stroller is always a benefit to anyone’s day.
What brought the family to Niagara Falls was a mini holiday away from their week long camping trip prior to the visit. The family visited Niagara Falls for two days and within those two days, Hornblower Niagara Cruises was their second attraction on the list of sights to experiences to see and do. The family visited Marineland earlier in the day so the boat ride was the perfect addition to keeping everyone cool and energized.
This wasn’t the first time visit for both David and Rachel, as they both mentioned they had done the boat tour many years ago. ‘As kids we did the boat tour and now the kids are old enough we want them to do the same and see for themselves how it really is amazing.’
After posing for what seemed like a 100 photos, the families made their way onboard the boats where they were greeted from Hornblower Marine and Guest Services staff. The family had a picture perfect view of the Falls as they stood on the upper deck as it faced out to the American and Bridal Veil Falls. After the experiencing #inthemist the families were all smiles and thumbs up. To conclude their visit the families had a chance to meet Captain Mark and First Mate, Amanda who let them pose in the captain’s seat and take pictures with them. That wasn’t all, the families also got to ring the bell aboard the boat as passengers disembarked.
Reaching one million isn’t new to Hornblower Niagara Cruises. In September 2014, we reached our one millionth passenger who happened to be from Newark, Delaware who too was visiting Niagara Falls, Ontario on a vacation with her family of 10.
