Tour Itinerary

Our Madrid tapas and wine tour begins at one of the city's most quintessentially Madrileño bars: a quirky hole-in-the-wall packed with eccentric antiques and even a work of art by Picasso! It's the most atmospheric place around to sip a flavorful vermouth—and learn why this once old-school aperitif is becoming cool again. You'll pair your drink with a selection of open-faced sandwiches piled high with delicious ingredients, along with the famous gilda, a beloved skewer of surprisingly simple ingredients that makes the perfect complement to the bittersweet vermouth.

Next, you'll weave through the colorful neighborhood streets to the second stop on your Madrid tapas and wine tour: a tapas bar housed in a stunning 17th-century building. Here we'll enjoy a tasting of two Spanish white wines paired with two staple tapas: freshly fried croquetas and a plate of Spain's most incredible cheeses.

Our final stop is at a centennial tavern that was brought back to life in recent years by three local chefs. Settle into this cozy space for a selection of homemade tapas: addictive stuffed mushrooms, Spain’s famous patatas bravas (crispy fried potatoes with a spicy sauce and garlic aioli), and the finest cut of Iberian pork around. Pair it all with two essential Spanish reds—and put your newfound wine skills to the test in a blind tasting challenge to end your evening with a little friendly competition.
