The River Palace is one our most modern vessels and is a popular choice for private charters. She was designed and built for the River Ouse by the former owners of City Cruises York in the basin of the River Foss. Downstairs on the lower deck you and your guests can enjoy wonderful views as you sail along by virtue of the floor to ceiling windows. The forward deck can also be opened during warmer weather. The lower deck is comprised of a heated lounge, a fully stocked bar, a dance floor, additional bow/stern areas and two toilets.Meanwhile, upstairs you will find a large, open upper deck. River Prince is one of our largest vessels and as such is perfect for bigger groups looking for a more informal celebration.Downstairs on the lower deck you will find a spacious saloon with large panoramic windows, equipped with tables and chairs around the perimeter, a wooden dance floor in the centre, space for informal buffets and the bar. There are also two toilets in the main saloon, with a further two on the open rear deck, a possible location for reception drinks as your guests step aboard.Meanwhile, upstairs you will find a large, open upper deck spread across two levels. The River King has become one of our most popular private charter vessels for smaller groups celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and hen parties. It is an ideal floating venue for informal parties, with or without catering. Downstairs you will find a heated, enclosed and cosy saloon with large, panoramic windows offering excellent views. There is also a fully stocked bar which was completely refurbished in 2015 and space for catering and/or a DJ.At the rear of the saloon a staircase gives access to the partially open rear deck. This a great place to take in the atmosphere outside even in bad weather as it has a fixed roof. However, the sides are open and there are cushioned benches around the perimeter. This rear deck is also where the two toilets are located.From the rear deck, some more steps give access to the open upper deck. The Captain James Cook is our largest and most versatile vessel, perfect for any occasion, from formal dinners to cocktail parties and casino nights. It features a refurbished lower deck with stylish furniture, a fantastic bar, and a dance floor. With colorful lighting the upper deck is ideal for relaxed gatherings and enjoying great food and drinks.Captain James Cook is both the largest and the most versatile boat with regards to its facilities and consequently it makes the ideal floating venue for any occasion; from formal dinners, fun barbecues, buffets and casino nights, to a simple drinks party. She can accommodate up to 120 guests, see below for our maximum guest numbers depending on the package that you choose. The lower deck was recently refurbished to include new furniture, panelling, windows and a fantastic bar. There are also two ladies and one gentlemen’s toilet at the rear of the lower deck, whilst the optional dance floor is towards the bow (or the front for you landlubbers!). Captain James Cook is also the only boat that can be covered on the upper deck, or left open to enjoy the sunshine. The upper deck was recently refurbished to include new windows (removable) and colourful lighting. The most recent addition to the upper deck was a retractable roof which can be opened in warmer weather or closed if the elements are not in our favour.
