TOUR ITINERARY
Your Barcelona tapas and wine tour kicks off in the same way that all great evenings in Barcelona begin: at a trendy tapas bar in a picturesque square. Toast with a glass of Cava Gran Reserva, Spain’s quintessential sparkling wine produced mainly in Catalonia, paired with light bites that offer a contemporary twist on traditional favorites. As you snack and sip, you’ll get a crash course in all things cava and get to know the other members of your small group.
On the way through the Born neighborhood to our next stop, the beautiful Santa Maria del Mar Gothic church comes into view. You’ll pop inside a cozy, inviting tapas bar that takes its name from the baixeros who carried the stones from the shore in the 14th century in order to build the church on the other side of the square. Here you’ll enjoy a glass of white wine and vermouth straight from the tap—an age-old aperitif that’s experienced a comeback in recent years—as you nibble on Spanish olives, Manchego cheese, and marinated artichokes. You’ll also try a gourmet interpretation of a beloved dish packed with flavor.
From there, you’ll follow your guide into the historic Gothic Quarter. Entering from a quieter street, you’ll have a rare opportunity to take in the cobblestone street and ornate architecture in peace. You'll finish your Barcelona tapas and wine tour with a sit-down tapas dinner at a family-owned restaurant that's fully booked most nights of the week. The contemporary menu focuses on simple, fresh ingredients inspired by traditional Catalan flavors paired with a standout Catalan red. You'll finish the night with a mouthwatering dessert and one last sweet drink to top things off.
By the end of the night, you’ll have experienced Catalan wines and Barcelona’s tapas culture in a truly authentic way that few other visitors can claim—all while sharing laughs and making some new friends along the way.
