HORNBLOWER’S MAT AND KELLI GURMAN

As a keyboard player and vocalist, Kelli packed up and moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles to attend Cal Arts, where she met her future husband, Mat! Both are exceptionally talented musicians and composers, and have regularly graced the decks of Hornblower yachts in Southern California for over 30 years.

Though you’ll rarely see them perform together professionally, you’ll often find Kelli deejaying on board in Marina del Rey, fusing music with the ocean atmosphere. If Kelli’s on dry land, she’s busy writing and recording her own songs (and you can totally purchase her stuff on iTunes under her artist name, Remi).

Mat is just as rad as Kelli – he’s played guitar for Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Rob Reiner, Jim Carey, Carlos Santana, and Presidents Reagan, Ford, and Carter. He’s toured with David Cassidy and The Beach Boys, and worked with Branford Marsalis on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno – where he played with the Backstreet Boys, Tanya Tucker, k.d. lang, the Broadway casts of Grease and Wicked, and so many more.
