The leaves are falling, the temperatures are dropping, and the flannels are coming out — that can only mean one thing, folks: Fall is finally here! And, after a brutally hot summer, we couldn’t be more excited. Not only are we showing up to work in clothes that aren’t drenched in sweat, but we have the holiday season to look forward to! The first family celebration to kick off the holiday season is in our sights, Turkey Day, and if you’re lucky enough to be spending Thanksgiving 2023 in Baltimore, Maryland, you’re in for a real treat. If you live in Baltimore, we’re jealous — but if you’re just visiting or it’s your first time in the city, you’re bound to have a good time, since Charm City (as it’s affectionately known) is the perfect place to celebrate with friends and family, thanks to its beautiful harbor, rich history, interactive attractions, and much more. Plus, if you’re looking forward to a long weekend full of activities, you’ve come to the right place. From distilleries to cruises, aquariums, and plenty of other exciting adventures, Thanksgiving in Baltimore couldn’t be better. Let’s dive in!
Celebrate Thanksgiving 2023 with City Cruises in Baltimore
First off, if you don’t already have plans for the big day, we recommend signing up for the Baltimore Thanksgiving Day Afternoon Lunch Cruise. You and your guests will make this year’s Turkey Day truly special with this unforgettable on-the-water adventure. (After all, it’s not every day you get to enjoy a holiday on a floating venue!) Get ready to enjoy a celebratory lunch buffet — with all the trimmings — freshly prepared by the ship’s onboard chef. While you’re out sailing on the harbor, you’ll enjoy out-of-this-world views of Baltimore’s historic waterfront, City Cruises’ distinctive hospitality, full bar service, and lots of festive décor. The City Cruises team will happily take care of all the details, so all you have to do is soak in the scenic Inner Harbor and Patapsco River views while you enjoy the holiday with your friends and family. Plus, there are plenty of additional upgrades to customize your experience — but we won’t spoil the surprises!
Fun Things to Do in Baltimore Over the Thanksgiving Weekend
If you’re looking for more fun things to do in Baltimore on Thanksgiving weekend, there’s no shortage. If you’re with the whole family (especially if you’ve got little ones with you) we suggest checking out the National Aquarium! If you or your loved ones are interested in wildlife, the National Aquarium is a must-stop destination. It functions as a massive aquarium and nonprofit organization whose mission is “to inspire conservation of the world’s aquatic treasures” — and that, they certainly do! Featuring award-winning habitats full of thousands of different types of fishes, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals, the National Aquarium is ranked as one of the United States’ top three aquariums and, of course, as Maryland’s largest paid tourist attraction.
Are you in the market for a fun and exciting experience that’s a little more adult? Well, you know what they say: To get to know a city, grab a drink with a local! For that, you can’t go wrong with checking out the Sagamore Spirit Distillery, one of the state’s most popular distilleries. It’s open for business Wednesday through Sunday for expert-guided tours and delicious rye whiskey tastings, and it’s also conveniently situated in the middle of Baltimore’s Port Covington neighborhood, so it has breathtaking waterfront views. You can also book private events or sign up for special, seasonal classes at the distillery including make-your-own cocktail classes and additional whiskey education sessions!
What is Thanksgiving Without Football?
If you’re staying in the city for the entire weekend, you should definitely head to a bar or restaurant to check out some local grub! There are a ton of seriously delicious restaurants in the city, with diverse options that range from upscale bistros to neighborhood cafes. Oh, and don’t forget to pick one of the city’s great sports bars to watch the Baltimore Ravens take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night! While they’re not playing at home, you can be sure one of the city’s many terrific eateries or watering holes will have a fun crowd full of passionate fans — just remember to bring your Raven’s gear!
Plan Your Baltimore Thanksgiving with City Cruises Today!
At the end of the day, Thanksgiving is all about showing gratitude and giving thanks for all of our blessings. Enjoying loved ones, a nice meal, and creating memories and traditions to carry on for generations. City Cruises in Baltimore can help you achieve just that, allowing you to enjoy yourself, spend time with your friends and family, and have a great holiday!
