Summer Memories
Our 2016 season isn’t over yet, but the summer season ends this week. We wanted to take some time and reflect on the highlights from Summer 2016.
Whether it’s the musical guests, weddings or Olympic athletes all the highlights are sure to be memories we’ll cherish for many years to come.
Opening Day 2016
The first highlight of any season is always our opening day. This season Hornblower Niagara Cruises made history by opening our season on April 1st. This is the earliest any boat tour as ever operated in the Niagara Gorge in its 150+ year history.
Raine Madia
Raine Madia, Our Lady Peace front man and one-half of Moon vs Sun, visited in July with his family before a performance at Jackson-Triggs Winery. The Voyage to the Falls boat tour thrilled Mr. Madia and his children as a once in a lifetime experience.
Colin and Justin
Game of Homes hosts Colin and Justin visited Niagara and came #InTheMist with us this summer. We’re excited to see if the Falls make any design inspirations in the coming TV season.
Canada Day
July 1st was one of our favourite memories from this past summer. We had an incredible party and we are already looking forward to celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday in 2017!
Mayor’s Bobble Head
Not a typical mayoral visit but the Mayor’s Office of Niagara Falls brought a special guest aboard. We even were able to find a poncho in just his size.
Model Visit
DJ Mews, Tisha Mikail, Amy Lee Summers and a few other young women joined us while in town in August for a photoshoot at a winery.
Passport Party Project
Tracey Friley brought her Passport Party Project to Hornblower in July. These 15 enthusiastic young women visited us with this award-winning grassroots global awareness initiative for underrepresented American girls ages 11 to 15 years old. Learn more about this incredible program here.
Weddings and Elopements
We played host to many special moments this season. But always our favourites are the weddings, elopements and proposals that take place on our boat and in our Private Event Tent. If you’re looking for a unique wedding venue or rehearsal dinner location find more information here.
The Darcy’s
The Niagara Parks Mid Summer Days free pop-up concert brought the Toronto rockers The Darcy’s to town. They visited Niagara Falls on our boat before performing that evening and took full advantage of the epic selfies.
Travelette Blogger
Kathi Kamleitner a travel blogger with Travelette.net visited this season to explore Niagara Falls, Canada. She took in the world wonder from the caves of Journey Behind the Falls, the sky with Niagara Helicopters and #InTheMist with us, we’re proud to hear we provided her favourite view.
Les Clefs d’Or Niagara 11th Annual Golf Classic
We were proud to be the title sponsor of Les Clefs d’Or Niagara 11th Annual Golf Classic in September. This incredible event included a fun “Chip in the Boat” contest our own Joanna hosted, read all the details here.
River Town Saints
Country music rockers River Town Saints visited us in September while visiting the area to perform at the Niagara Wine Festival. The Ottawa locals couldn’t get over the incredible power of the Falls and were thrilled with their visit.
Canadian Wrestling Olympic Team
This August the world turned their eyes to Rio, Brazil for the Games of the XXXI Olympiad. The Canadian Olympic Wrestling Team made their official team announcement in our Private Event Tent. Read all about their visit here.
Harper’s Bazaar Photoshoot
An exciting highlight of this summer season was hosting Linda Evangelista, Raquel Zimmermann and the Harper’s Bazaar crew for a photo shoot. The photos with the mighty Niagara Falls in the background contributed to a fashion editorial in the September issue. See the whole editorial here.
Still Time to Visit
Our season isn’t over yet! Our boats will be going into the Mist until November 30th, 2016. You still have time to come and experience this incredible world wonder up close and personal for yourself this year.
Plan ahead and purchase your tickets online in advance. They can be scanned directly from your smartphone to save time and paper. Making the most of your Niagara Falls visit #InTheMist!
