Thanksgiving. It’s a special time of year where families and friends get together to be thankful for and here are a few good reasons to do something different for Thanksgiving 2015.
1. Avoiding Travel
Tell the family you’ve got something more amazing planned (you do) than a visit home to stay in your childhood bedroom, with your significant other laughing at the posters on your bedroom wall. (Also, see number 2.) Tell them you’ve got a better idea, have them come to you and take a cruise for Thanksgiving. If they don’t want to travel to you, just let them know it’s a myth that Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year.
2. No turkey drop
It’s not just folklore, it’s an actual scientific fact Thanksgiving is the occasion when most relationship breakups take place. And it doesn’t just happen to college students. But let’s be real, taking a cruise is one of the most romantic things you can do. You’re onto a winner, there’s no way you’ll be in the turkey drop zone.
3. Let a real chef do the cooking
Let’s face it, the person in your family responsible for cooking Thanksgiving dinner just isn’t a very good cook; the turkey is dry, the veggies are undercooked. You don’t want to hurt their feelings but you know it could be so much better. Tell them you want to give them a break. Do something much better, an NYC Thanksgiving cruise.
4. Family is great but…
…Sometimes in smaller doses. Sure, we’re all thankful for our family and friends, and this is the time we should be thankful, but it can often be too much time. Even if you can’t get enough of your family, it’s a great change of scenery. The Hornblower Thanksgiving Cruise is just the right duration, a three hour cruise; plenty of time for food, drinks and dancing. No preparations beforehand, No clean up after and… wait, did you say no cleaning?
5. No cooking. No cleaning.
No cleaning up! Is there anything better than a great holiday meal and not having to clean at all? No cleaning in preparation. No cooking. No mad dash to the store for that one ingredient you forgot. No dirty dishes. No cleaning up after. No. Cleaning. at. all.
We know you’re convinced, so let us add some icing to the cake — or is that carving to the turkey?
Hornblower’s Thanksgiving Cruise takes place on a luxury yacht, you’ll be in beautiful surrounds with even more amazing views. Family from out of town won’t get a better view of New York than this. Right up close to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. You’ll cruise past Governor’s Island and under the Brooklyn Bridge and the NYC skyline as a backdrop throughout. Even if you’ve seen it a million times, the perspective is better from the water.
Add to this the feast that is the Hornblower Thanksgiving buffet, featuring all your favorites including a succulent Thanksgiving turkey.
And what sort of regular Thanksgiving has a DJ?!
Hornblower’s Thanksgiving Cruise happens Thursday, November 26, 2015 from 5-8pm and boards at 4:30pm.
Make it the best Thanksgiving dinner yet for you and your family.
