  • This is a walking tour. Guests should be able to walk at a moderate pace without difficulty.  
  • The tour meeting time is 15 minutes prior to the start time. 
  • Our group tour utilizes multiple areas that are not wheelchair accessible/mobility friendly. Those with wheelchairs and mobility issues should contact us so we can arrange your visit. 
  • Sites on this tour are subject to occasional closures. If modifications are needed and time permits, we will reach out to you prior to your tour. 
  • The castle is reached across the esplanade, a wide area of smooth tarmac, with an uphill gradient of 5 degrees. 
  • Suitcases and large rucksacks (30L or over) are not permitted in the castle. We are unable to store luggage, prams, pushchairs or other personal items for visitors.
  • All visitors will be subject to bag searches at Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace as part of security screening processes.
  • Photography and filming are not permitted inside the Palace.
  • Food & drink are not permitted inside the Palace's State Apartments.
