TOUR ITINERARY
Our tour starts at traditional French boulangerie to talk bread, viennoiserie and the rivalry between the Paris and Bordeaux pastry scene. We’ll taste chocolatine, also known as pain au chocolat, while watching them being made before our eyes!
Next up, we’ll taste the city’s emblematic sweet, the canelé, in the unique address of some passionate canelé makers.
The narrow back streets of Bordeaux lead us to one of its most famous sites, the 11th century Cathedral Saint André, and golden topped tower Pey-Berland. Bordeaux has roots back to the Romans, and we’ll talk about their influence to this day in the city!
We’ll stop off for a bite of at a typical local café-brasserie on a charming street. We'll try their plat du jour, or daily special, showcasing the chef's creativity and made with seasonal ingredients. Then, find your favorite cheese in a tasting of five different French cheeses. What makes French cheese so special? Our cheese monger is here to reveal all.
Next up, we’ll visit a third generation chocolaterie. They’re a Bordeaux institution, making artisanal chocolate since 1904.
Just next door, find Bordeaux’s newest pastry, named after the impressive coastline that surrounds the city. Born in Bordeaux in 2007, this bite-sized pâtisserie is perfectly located next to the Golden Quarter of the city.
And last but not least, a Bordeaux food tour would not be complete without wine. Finish your tour with a dedicated wine tasting at a shop run by two brothers who support local producers. After our wine tasting, you'll head back out to the streets of Bordeaux and say au revoir to your guide and small group in a charming park.
