9:30 am Whale Watch & Dolphin Sightings:

2 Humpback Whales
Common Dolphins

Great weather after a week of rain, but the sea was a bit rocky with 6′ swells. Nevertheless, it was a fine outing as we had a good look at two humpback whales for more than an hour. While watching the humpbacks, we were delighted to have a stampede of common dolphins pass around us.

9:30 am Whale Watch & Dolphin Sightings:

2 Humpback Whales (Adult & Juvenile)
6 Bottlenose Dolphins
Sea Lions
Brown Pelicans
Terns
Sea Gulls
Sting Rays

This Whale & Dolphin Watching cruise with Captain Rick was fantastic and included beautiful weather. Six (6) bottlenose dolphins were spotted while heading to the ocean and still in the San Diego harbor. Within the first hour and in the ocean at about four (4) miles out of the SD Harbor there were numerous birds (e.g. brown pelicans, terns, sea gulls) that were feeding on bait balls. This activity also brought sting rays (i.e., three Haller’s Round Rays, a beautiful Jelly, many sea lions, and two (2) Humpback whales (Adult & Juvenile). The guests and crew were treated to several flukes, a breach, and a large lounge feeding event.
