9:15 am Whale Watch & Dolphin Sightings:

Ocean Sunfish

As we ventured out of San Diego Bay, the fog lifted and passengers enjoyed the sun and beautiful views of the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean.

We sighted 2 mola molas (aka Ocean Sunfish) and some passengers witnessed a small shark launch itself out of the water.

We traveled west/northwest and kept our eyes open; but the dolphins and whales evaded us.

Pam

9:30 am – Whale Watch & Dolphin Sightings:

Sea Lions

It was an overcast day, temps around 60°. Waves were about 5′ with a mixed swell. We saw a pair of sea lions rafted together. Lots of brown pelicans and cormorants, no whales or dolphin spotted today.

9:30 am – Whale Watch & Dolphin Sightings:

Grey Whale

Foggy morning with smooth waters. Shortly after leaving the bay, we encountered a grey whale headed south. We followed along for over an hour observing many blows and flukes. Was wonderful to see.

Elizabeth McFarland, Jennifer Egan
