Many families start the day with a church service, reflecting on the holiday’s meaning before heading out to enjoy the city’s Easter festivities. Local parks and attractions host egg hunts and family-friendly events in the weeks leading up to the holiday, while Sacramento’s downtown area comes alive with spring markets and festive brunch spots. Whether it’s a stroll through the blooming gardens at Capitol Park or a backyard egg hunt with the kids, Easter in Sacramento is all about spending quality time with loved ones and celebrating the season.

Get Egg-cited Egg Hunting in Sacramento this Easter 

Fair Oaks Recreation & Park District invites the entire family to the Fair Oaks Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Families in the Sacramento area will have a great time with a free children’s egg hunt and treat bag (pre-registration required), craft and activity stations, a petting zoo, and pictures with the Easter Bunny! For a nominal fee, teens (ages 13-17) and adults (ages 18+) can get in on the holiday traditions and participate in the teen and adult prize egg hunts.

Get the whole family out for a day of fun with egg hunting, Easter Bunny pictures, and beautiful spring weather at Hoppin’ & Huntin’ at Hagan. The excitement will take place on Saturday, April 12th, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Cordova Recreation & Park District. The event will have basketfuls of fun with themed activities, including egg hunts, a tot lot (ages 2 and under), music, a Hopstacle Course, and more!

Saturday, April 13th, 2025, the Spring Flower Festival and Egg Hunt will be held at El Dorado Hills Town Center. This annual family-friendly event will feature an egg hunt, flower themed booths, a butterfly release, and even a parade with a fairy procession. Don’t jiss out on the egg-citement!  

Sacramento’s Sweet Easter Egg-scapes  

All aboard the Easter Egg Express for an incredible springtime experience for all ages. Enjoy an egg hunt, a train ride, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and special access to Elkhorn Station Park located on the Sacramento River. Light concessions will be available during the train ride and The River Fox Café will be serving hot food at the park. Please note: no outside food or beverages will be allowed.  Varying dates are available to purchase tickets throughout March and April. There are open-air and indoor seats available as well as a gift shop to enjoy.

Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 9:00 am, join everyone for a morning of family fun and community celebration at the Arden Manor’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt. There will be designated areas for children 4 and under and 5-12 years old, and don’t forget to bring your own basket! And of course, the fun wouldn’t be complete without a visit from the Eater Bunny, so be sure to bring your cameras and phones for some family photos.

Want to have a great time with your entire family in the Sacramento sunshine? Join in all the fun at Easter in the Park, Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at Fourth Avenue Park at 11:00 am.
