Eggs-citing Easter Egg Hunts in Philadelphia  

Every Easter children around the United States gather outside in parks, gardens, or around their homes searching for eggs, and for many families, EasterTwo kids with Easter Baskets on the grass just isn’t complete without an annual egg hunt. The origins of the Easter egg hunt originated in Germany. The men would hide the eggs for women and children to find which was a nod to the story of the resurrection. Easter egg hunts became more popular in the late 19th century and moved away from being primarily a religious celebration and became more centered on family and children.  

It’s time to lose winter coats and get out and about for some egg-hunting fun. Who says hunting for Easter eggs is only for kids? Get on over to the Double Barrel Roadhouse in Red Lion on March 9th for an Adult Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza and enjoy crafts, vendors, food trucks, and some adult beverages. You’re never too old to have a little fun. So, snap photos with the Easter Bunny, share some laughs, and revel in the festival spirit as you discover and support local businesses. Sip, nibble, shop, and hop – there’s something for everyone to enjoy! 

Come on out for a free Easter egg hunt for kids ages 10 and under. The Easter Bunny will be stopping by for photos so bring your camera or phone. There will be snacks, face painting, and temporary tattoos for the kids. Grab a ticket for each child attending here for Sunday, March 10th at 11:00am at Fluehr Park and support members of your community and local Police District Advisory Council.  

Another exciting and free event is happening at FDR Park. Get your photo with the Easter Bunny, and get your face painted, all for free! Reserve your spot here for a hoppin’ good time on Saturday, March 23rd. The fun begins at 10:30am and lasts until 1:00pm. Egg hunts are broken down by age groups so bring the whole family.  

Get ready for cuteness overload! Saturday, March 30th the EPCC Egg Hunt & Petting Zoo will be hosting a fun-filled day of hunting colorful eggs and cuddling adorable animals. This event promises to be a delightful event for all ages. From fluffy bunnies to friendly goats, you will have a ball petting the adorable animals at East Passyunk Community Center on Mifflin Street. 

Family Fun Events in Philadelphia for Easter  

Celebrate the spring with an Easter Hop event benefiting the Easter Seals from anywhere around the world for a 1 mile, 5K, 10K, or a virtual run or walk – it’s up to you! Do something for a good cause and get the family active. Get your peeps outdoors at Northwestern Stables on Sunday, March 24th at 10:00am to welcome spring and reserve your horse rides and selfie with the guest of honor – the Easter Bunny. There will be games and snacks for this Hippity Hoppity Horses event that you do not want to miss.  

Here’s something different and fun for your sweet tooth. Jumpin’ into Easter Sugar Cookie Decorating Class will be on Wednesday, March 27th, at 6:00pm. Learn about decorating sugar cookies (beginner-friendly) and practice piping with royal icing. Everything you need will be provided. BYOB and a smile and get ready for a sweet time.
